Shattered Glass

Death gripped one of my junior at 7am today.

I was totally oblivious about his passing until I received a message over my handphone in the afternoon. Staring at the message in disbelief, I went to his friendster profile to see any signs of condolence messages or abnormalities.

Seeing nothing new happened I decided to call up my other junior, Dian to double-confirm the news.
She too, did not learn about him fate.

“Don’t kid with me!” she warned.

“I don’t know. Since I received the news from Miss Joyce Tan, it has to be true. You can check on my behalf?”

We hung up and I decided to ring her up once more 10 mins later.

The whole news was confirmed by Dian.
He went out at 3am. Along the way, accident happened (Motorcycle) and at 7am, he was pronounced dead.

May god bless his soul.

You might find it funny or strange for me to check his friendster to confirm the news.

Here is my view about blogs and social networking sites.

Somehow, they’re like our attempts to tell the world that we’ve existed.
Reading through blogs of someone who is gone, you would see that he/she is actually human.

The problems they faced. The happiness they cherish. The sadness they overcame.

If you’re a habitual blogger, I’m guessing you would understand what I meant.

When we’re gone, our blogs would stay stagnant.
An indication we’re not here.

Yet our blog can do 1 powerful thing.

Hold memories for the ones still alive.

Keep blogging people.
I find people who delete their blogs foolish for this reason.
